A City of Canals

This tour will give you a chance to see another face of Osaka, “A city of canals”. This course will show you the business district to the shopping district. This is 8 hours course.

Mido-Suji Mido-Suji is a Main Street which runs from Umeda to Namba. It has 4.2 km length and 44 m width, and one way to south direction for cars. Every year, it is light-upped in December. Ginko trees lined with both sides of the street are the symbol of the Mido-Suji.

Nakanoshima This is a relaxing zone filled with history, greenery and water. It is developed as a merchant area since the Edo period. Great for walking around and looking through the parks, museums and retro buildings.
Nakanoshima Park sandwiched between two rivers was chosen as one of the 100 green spots in Osaka. In summer and autumn, the park is filled with roses. In winter, the park becomes the main venue for the Festival of Lights.
Osaka City Central Public Hall was opened in 1918 and designated as an important cultural property of Japan. This neo-Renaissance-style building is one of the most famous buildings in Osaka. The hall houses an exhibition room that introduces the history of the hall, a shop selling goods and books, and a restaurant.

AQUA-LINER The Aqua-bus cruises along the Okawa River, passing under many bridges. It takes about an hour. Passengers can view famous historical sites of Osaka such as Osaka Castle,  Nakanoshima. Cherry blossom season gives a wonderful view along the river.

Osaka Castle Osaka Castle is a symbol and city landmark. The castle was built in the end of 16th century. In 1615 the Summer Siege of Osaka by Tokugawa Ieyasu completely destroyed the castle. The current castle is the third generation building built in 1931. Visitors can go up to the top observation deck where panoramic views of Osaka city is enjoyed. There is a museum inside the castle, the display of miniature Summse Siege Scene is must to see!

Dotonbori This is the most famous street in Osaka. Big, flashy signers line the streets of Dotombori. The area began to flourish with the opening of the Dotonbori Canal around 400 years ago. Visitors can enjoy local foods such as “Takoyaki”, “Okonomiyaki”, or “Tecchiri”.
